Styles of Jewelry in different cultures - Part 1
The Pollera is the traditional Panamanian dress. It is full of colors, fabric, beads and
ruffles. Women wear the Pollera during
the holiday processions, folklore dance and even by brides on their wedding
day. The pollera is primarily hand sewn costume
that consists of petticoats, gathered skirts and ruffled blouses. The pollera dress is enhanced with hair
ornaments, jewelry and accessories. The
head dress can consist of tembleques featuring beaded and sometimes Swarovski
crystal studded hair pieces held in place with gold combs.
